The biggest european aircraft manufacturer used AOS high speed cameras for developments on the latest military cargo plane.
The cameras were directly mounted on the wing tips and the tale not being protected by an instrumentation bin or similar. Therefore AOS developed an airborne housing protecting the camera and the lens, featuring a window heating, interface electronics to connect to the aircrafts electronic system and special military connectors.
The whole system including the camera underwent severe environmental testing and certification by an independent laboratory according MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461.
